Q1: Do I need to buy an SD card to use this dash cam? What size memory card is recommended?

A1: A free 64GB U3 microSD card is included in the package. This dash cam supports memory cards ranging from 32GB to 256GB. If you need to buy a new one, we recommend a U3 or higher speed microSD card from a reputable brand for stable performance.

Q2: How to install the dash cam? The rear cam work? How can I register to get the 12-month extended gua-rantee?

A2: GKU manuals include installation videos. Yes, if not in case, find us for firmware. To register for the 12-month extended gua-rantee, just follow the manual instructions. For quicker help, check the first page of the manual.

Q3: Does this dash cam package also include a hardwire kit for parking monitoring? Which hardwire kit is compatible?

A3: No, like most dash cams, it doesn’t include a hardwire kit. For 24h parking mode, use a compatible kit (search B0CTX8CMY4 to buy, sold separately). Please dont buy kit from other store as they are not compatible. More detail of kit we can help.

Q4: My car doesn’t have a cigarette lighter. Can I still use it?

A4: Yes, you can. If no cigarette lighter, use a USB-A/C to USB-C cable (search B0CTY2259G or B0CZHVQZTC), power bank, or hardwire kit (B0CTX8CMY4). Only the cigar car charger is included to power the dash cam. Power supply must be 5V/2.5A or above.

Q5: Does the dash cam have a battery? Rechargeable? Is the dash cam wireless?

A5: Yes, but the battery is small only save settings if power lost. No, it is NOT Rechargeable an NOT Wireless. Use car charger, USB-C cable, or hardwire kit to power. The KIT and USB-C to USB-C Cable MUST be from OURS—others may not be compatible.

Q6: Will the car battery drain if the dash cam light stays on after parking?

A6: Yes, it will. If your cigarette lighter provides constant power, unplug the dash cam when parked or use a compatible hardwire kit(not included, search B0CTX8CMY4 to buy if needed) with low-voltage protection to prevent battery drain.

Q7: If the Dashcam APP (“GKU GO” APP) can’t connect to WiFi or for a stead WiFi connection what should I do?

A7: Allow all app permissions (photos, location, WLAN, cellular), Disable VPN/Bluetooth/security apps, and Stay within 3m of the dashcam. Disconnect CarPlay/Android Auto when use GKU GO app. If issues persist, reset dashcam, reinstall app or find us.

Q8: Does this dash cam record even if it is not connected to wifi? Can I use cellular internet?

A8: Yes, the dash cam can record with no WiFi connection. WiFi is a hub WiFi, only for phone connection via app, not for internet. To use cellular internet, simply disconnect the camera Wi-Fi. The dashcam will still record automatically without WiFi.

Q9: Is the rear camera waterproof? How long is the rear cable? Can I use it on a convertible or a tinted rear windows?

A9: The rear camera isn’t waterproof and must be installed inside. It comes with a 6m cable; for longer cars, add a 5m extension (B0DYJGXG1Z) for 11m total.For convertibles or tinted windows, use a waterproof rear camera (B0CTXZSWFW) mounted outside.

Q10: Can the dashcam be removed? Is the electrostatic film required to be applied before installing the dash cam?

A10: Yes, the dash cam is removable. Slide it left or right to detach from bracket. To use it in another car, we suggest buying a new bracket(search B0CTXZZW7R). No, static film isn’t required but helps remove the cam cleanly without leaving marks.
