No, like most dash cams, it doesn’t include a hardwire kit. For 24h parking mode, use our compatible kit (ASIN: B0CTX8CMY4, sold separately). Don’t buy other sellers’ kit, they’re not compatible with GKU dash cam. For more details of kit we can help.

How to install the dash cam? The Rear Camera work? How can I register to get the 12-month extended guar-antee?

GKU manuals include installation videos. Yes, if not in case, find us for firmware. To register for the 12-month extended guar-antee, just follow the manual instructions. For quicker help, check the first page of the manual.

Do I need to buy an SD card to use this dash cam? What size memory card is recommended?

No, a free 64GB U3 microSD card is included in the package. This dash cam supports memory cards ranging from 32GB to 256GB. If you want to buy a new one, we recommend a U3 or higher speed microSD card from a reputable brand for stable performance.

My car doesn’t have a cigarette lighter. Can I still use it?

Yes, you can. If no cigarette lighter, use a USB-A/C to USB-C cable (search B0CTY2259G or B0CZHVQZTC), power bank, or hardwire kit (B0CTX8CMY4). Only the cigar car charger is included to power the dash cam. Power supply must be 5V/2.5A or above.

Does the dash cam have a battery? Rechargeable? Is the dash cam wireless?

Yes, it has a small battery only saves settings when power is lost. It is NOT rechargeable, NOT wireless, and stops recording when power is off or the car is parked. Must be powered via car charger, USB-C cable, or hardwire kit connected to your car.

Will the car battery drain if the dash cam light stays on after parking?

Yes, it will. If your cigarette lighter provides constant power, unplug the dash cam when parked or use a compatible hardwire kit(not included, search B0CTX8CMY4 to buy if needed) with low-voltage protection to prevent battery drain.

Any tips on how to keep the WiFi connection more stable? What should I do if the WiFi disconnect?

Allow all app permissions (photos, location, WLAN, cellular), Disable VPN/Bluetooth/security apps, and Stay within 3m of the dashcam. Disconnect CarPlay/Android Auto when use GKU GO app. If issues persist, reset dashcam, reinstall app or find us.

Will the dash cam continue working in areas where there’s no wifi? Like mountain areas.

Yes, the dash cam can record with no WiFi connection. WiFi is only for phone connection via app, not for internet. To access cellular internet, simply disconnect the camera’s WiFi. GPS may be lost in tunnels or covered areas,but recording won’t stop.

Is the included rear camera waterproof? What is the rear cam cable length? Is it usable on convertibles/tinted windows?

No, the rear cam isn’t waterproof—install it inside. It comes with a 6m cable; for longer car, add a 5m extension (search B0DYJGXG1Z) for 11m total. For convertibles or tinted windows, use a waterproof rear camera (search B0CTXZSWFW) mounted outside.

Can the dash cam be removed? Is the electrostatic film required to be applied before installing the dash cam?

Yes, the dash cam is removable. Slide it left or right to detach from the bracket. To use it in another car, we suggest buying a new bracket( search B0D97GJDJS). No, static film isn’t required but helps remove the cam cleanly without leaving marks.
